Introduction/Overview Mid-South Medical Group Management Association accomplishes many of its goals using the services of its members on various committees. Because we’d like to encourage you to participate in this all-important process, we’ve included a brief description of each committee, and the functions they perform. Program Committee The President-Elect serves as the chairman for this committee. The Program Committee selects, confirms and schedules the speakers for the monthly meetings. The Program Committee also develops the educational content for the regular spring conference and for any special educational programs sponsored by Mid-South MGMA. This committee also sets the dates and makes all necessary arrangements for the conference. This is a key committee for our organization. Membership Committee The Membership Committee is responsible for developing programs to recruit, welcome and retain members, setting up member networks, developing the membership database and identifying other services that may be of value to Mid-South MGMA members. The Committee is charged with welcoming new members to the organization, and meeting and greeting new members when they attend their first Mid-South MGMA meeting or conference. The Membership committee reviews all Member complaints and recommends solutions/corrections to the President. Social Committee The primary purpose of this committee is to host social events and activities for the MSMGMA membership. The Social Committee enhances the networking and social environment for members by providing activities and events which focus on socialization, appreciation, recognition, and philanthropy. If you like to coordinate social activities for groups, plan events, get people involved AND like to host parties, this committee is for you! Vendor Committee This committee works with healthcare related vendors to recruit vending booths and work with the vendors to ensure successful programs. Mid-South MGMA vendors provide valuable resources to the membership such as training and insight into new products & features. Public Relations Committee The Public Affairs Committee provides strategic development and enhancement of the MSMGMA web site and members forum. This committee is also responsible for increasing awareness of the Mid-South MGMA to area medical groups and is instrumental in communicating to members.
